Lycee Jules Verne is looking for its Maintenance Manager ( Local contract) M/F

Position vacant from 1st July 2019
Location: Lycée Jules Verne Johannesburg
Volume of hours: : 40 hours / week

Under the authority of the Financial Director, the Maintenance Manager has the following duties :
 Everyday follow-up of maintenance work.
 The management of the maintenance team (3 handymen/ 2 gardeners / 2 cleaners).
 The coordination of contractors responsible for cleaning and security. 
 The organisation of orders and purchases of material and supplies. 
 Liaising with the School Board for construction and renovation work.
 Be the reference person for security (in particular fire, containement and lightening alarms).

The Maintenance Manager performs his duties throughout the year, including during school holidays. Annual leave is taken as follows :
- The whole period of the Christmas holidays ;
- 10 days during the Summer holidays (July/August)
- 2 days per short holidays (Automn/Winter/Spring)
The Maintenance Manager must be flexible and adapt to the requirements of the service.

Desired skills and experience:
Good knowledge of various works : plumbing, painting, electricity, carpentry, woodwork
Experience in similar duties;
Experience in team management;
Computor skills : MS Office suite, Word, Excel and Outlook in particular.
Good knowledge of English and preferably French, read, written and spoken.
Good communication and organisation.
