Roger LatchmanExecutive Chairman, Maruti Global

Roger Latchman is a Chartered Director (CD SA), a designation awarded by the Institute of Directors of South Africa. To keep abreast he regularly participates in Director Development training programmes.  He is a member of the Institute of Directors in South Africa and in the UK.

To strengthen his international business knowledge, he completed the Global Executive Development Programme (GEDP) at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). Currently, he is reading towards a Masters of Law degree in International Commercial Law.  

Some notable programmes he has attended include the Accelerated Director programme, the Chairman’s programme and the Social & Ethics Committee course. He completed a programme in International Trade & Facilitation in 2013 at the invitation of the Swedish government.

He has spoken at several local and international conferences including the Economic Forum Krynica 2018, the World Tamils Economic Conference (Durban 2017, and Pondicherry 2018). He has been awarded by several organisations across the world.

He is an active member of the Bretton Woods Committee, a committee that champions global efforts to spur economic growth, alleviate poverty and improve financial stability. He serves on the board of the French-South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry and on the South African-Saudi Arabia Business Council.

Roger previously served as the Deputy-Chairman of the World Information Technology & Services Alliance (WITSA), an organisation formed to promote the interests of the global ICT industry.  He had been on the board for 7 years until 2016.

Roger has extensive experience in corporate governance, compliance, and finance. Roger holds the position of Executive Chairman for Maruti Global, with subsidiaries including VeriFi BEE Compliance (Pty) Ltd (est. 2006), Maruti Project Management and International Corporate Training Limited – a company registered in the UK, Mauritius and in his home country, South Africa.

He has undertaken business visits to over 50 countries and is currently has business interests in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Mauritius and India. He has been a member of the business delegation accompanying the President of SA on several official state missions.

He was an Associate Director at Ernst & Young Corporate Finance division appointed 2000 - 2005, and he was involved in several large BEE due diligences, mergers, valuations and general BEE Advisory.  His previous experience also include a period with Tsogo Sun Hotels, and with various practices in accounting.
