> "Breaking the Glass Ceiling"
In partnership with Work in the city
Justine Combrink was elected as the first female Partner in Mazars Gauteng in 2011. She is also a wife and a mother of two. Before her rise to breaking the ceiling in her career, Justine was an article clerk at Deloitte. Her ambition and belief that if you have a CA, you can achieve anything speaks for itself when she completed her CA in 3 years, now heads up the Financial Reporting Division and is also an international technical Partner at Mazars. To avoid the “mommy track” label which is a term used to describe women who simply disregard their career and professional duties in order to satisfy the needs of their families, Justine broke through the glass ceiling by making the decision to wanting to become a Partner and acknowledging what she needed to do to get reach her goal. She believes that female leaders must not try to beat men at their own game, they must make their own path and in so doing they will too break the glass ceiling and live a balanced life with a successful career and maintaining a happy family.
